About Tokai TV
TOKAI TELEVISION BROADCASTING CO., LTD. (Tokai TV) was established in 1958in Japan.
It covers 11 million viewers in the Chubu region (Aichi, Gifu, Mie, in the center of Japan)where leading manufacturers in automotive, aerospace, machinery etc. set‒up their bases.
Tokai TV produces its own TV programs such as news, sports, documentaries, dramas, and variety shows which are broadcasted both for its own channel and via Fuji Network Systems (FNS)affiliated broadcasters.
Tokai TV plays an important role in FNS as the key station which has been producing 200 drama series, the biggest number of Äb0episodes among Japanese dramas.
The subjects used in our dramas are very universal, accepted by any countries and background. –Social issues, collapsing families, people striving to live in a harsh society, relationship with people / community, regeneration, family love, Telenovela...
Since 1964, Tokai TV has produced almost 200 daytime soaps, broadcast nationwide.
Among the most popular title is thedramatic “saga” story of which spawned two otherseries, forming a mega-hit trilogy in the 80’s.In the 90’s, the “love/hate”genre, known as “Grand Roman”drama, grew ever more popular.
With the start of the new millennium,the genre further flourished-especially among the housewife viewers -thus capturing a wideraudience. Although originally produced for afternoon viewership, special prime time episodes werealsobroadcast,due to its huge popularity.
• Tokai TV is a TVbroadcaster with more than 50 years of experience in national broadcast,holdingmany talented producers and experienced production teamswho created a large catalogue of TV drama series, out of which:
・Daytime telenovela (30mins daily from 13:30 Monday –Friday): over 52 years and 214 series produced.
・Since 2016, night drama series: “Saturday night drama for adults”: (1hr long from 23:40 on Saturdays) currently runs its 22nd series.
• For international contents sales, Tokai TV has been active since the 1980s. Wehave been attending markets mainly in Asia since 2013, so far ourcontents “Mother-in-law vs daughter-in-law (Season 1-4)" have been broadcasted over 20 different countries.
