KakeruSorano (20), a university student who lives in the college dormitory, is in class when he meets a beautiful blind girl, Koharu Fuyutsuki(20). Despite being blind, Koharu is always smiling and optimistic. However, Koharu doesn't like confrontation and doesn't know howtoproperly reach out to her, so he avoids contact altogether. However, Koharu's friend introduces the two of them, increasing his chances of talking to her. He slowly grows more comfortable speaking with Koharu.
Koharu feels the same way about Sorano and confides in him what her dream is: to set off fireworks.
Sorano wonders why she wants fireworks when she can't see, but he's pulled into Koharu's momentum and begins preparing to setoff fireworks. The two get closer day by day, but before long, Koharu's childhood cancer is back...?!
