One summer at the Child Guidance Center, a heartful human drama will be told with excitement and warmth in the beautiful scenery of Shonan!
“I want to become a police detective and help lots of people.”
As a detective working at a local precinct, Tsubasa has been working frantically to make her childhood dream come true, but one day, all of a sudden, she receives orders to report to the Child Guidance Center by the seaside. Tsubasa heads there before she has time to sort out her feelings, and contrary to her image of the Child Guidance Center as a gloomy place, she is greeted by a cheerful group of children, along with the director of the center, Minamino, who doubles as a childcare worker, and Kurata, a child welfare officer.
While she is there, the center receives a report from the resident of an apartment building saying that they can hear a child crying. Once they persuade the mother, who does not want to let them in, Tsubasa and Kurata notice there is a bruise on the boy’s inner thigh. However, when Kurata leaves the house without saying anything, Tsubasa confronts him, asking, “Couldn’t this kind of slow response mean we’ll be too late?” Kurata counters, “It’s not the center’s job to reveal the crimes of the parents.”
The next day, the Child Guidance Center receives an emergency report of child abuse from an elementary school, and it’s about the boy with the bruise...
