Niger in western Africa is a paradise for giraffes. There they fill their mouths with wild watermelons, their favorite food, and lay their long necks down to nap. Just after they are born, baby giraffes, their umbilical cord still attached, run around gaily -- truly a paradise for them. Since giraffes help protect farmland by eating wild watermelons that grow too profusely, they are in turn treated protectively by people. In this setting, male giraffes surround females they are interested in and fight over them, hitting each other with their long necks as if boxing. Welcome to Giraffe Paradise is full of amazing and unexpected footage of giraffes in their natural habitat.
